Audemars PIGUET Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding 150580R.OO.A067CR.01

The Audemars PIGUET Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding 150580R.OO.A067CR.01 was introduced last year (2010) during the SIHH in Geneva and except for its steep list price, I haven’t heard a negative comment yet. In the past, AP already released a few diver (or scuba) watches as part of their Offshore series. One of them was the limited edition for Wempe, restricted to 175 pieces only.

The Audemars PIGUET Royal Oak Offshore was created using a simple formula: taking the identity of the Royal Oak and making it more powerful. The Royal Oak Offshore has a larger case and a dial with a "Mega Tapisserie" and a magnified date display. Designed to withstand external pressure to a depth of 300 metres, the watch comprises of eight cross-through hexagonal screws solidly joining the bezel, sapphire crystal and case. The crowns are screwed down which is important for keeping water out, and the movement is protected by an anti-magnetic 'strongbox'.
Selfwinding automatic calibre 3120 movement with a 60 hour power reserve made up of 280 parts and 40 jewels. Internally rotating bezel operated by turning the crown at the 10 o'clock position. 60-minute scale on inner flange capable of making dive time calculations. Date display at 3 o'clock.

From the famous Royal Oak Offshore collection with the immediately recognizable hexagon design bezel secured by 8 polished screws.
This watch features:
  • Brushed finished stainless steel case with polished finished beveled edges.
  • Black Mega-Tapestry "waffle" design textured dial.
  • Steel bezel & black rubber clad crowns.
  • Hands:
    • White Gold hands.
    • Hour hand is faceted with 3 band of luminescent material to make it easily distinguishable from the minute hand.
    • Minute hand with single bank of luminescent material.
    • Seconds hand with a luminescent circle.
  • Bold applied steel rimmed luminous index hour markers.
  • Uni-directional metallic black aluminum rotating bezel located under the crystal, controlled by the screw-in crown located on the case edge at the 10 o'clock position.
  • Magnified date window located at the 3 o'clock position.
  • Case back with Royal Oak OFFSHORE medallion.
  • Black rubber strap with oversized pin buckle.
  • AP Caliber 3120, beats at 21,600 vph, composed out of 278 parts, contains 40 Jewels & has an approximate power reserve of 60 hours.
I have removed the numbers using photo editing software, but these numbers are a unique case number at 12 o’clock starting with a character from the alphabet and a sequential number at 6 o’clock. This particular model starts with an H, and should say something about the production year. However, this information is not disclosed by AP. The other number is the sequential number and is linked to the model reference.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver Ref.15703 Review I Could Definitely Get Used To This Offshore
Like all other AP Royal Oak models, this Offshore Diver comes in a very nice looking wooden box with a small compartment in the carton box for the manual and warranty booklet.
